Why WoHackers
16 hackathons. 64 teammates. Only 10 women.
WoHackers started with a count. Since late 2024, one of our founders had taken part in 16 hackathons and built with 64 different people. Only 10 of them were women.
Tech competitions are still dominated by men, and that shapes who gets to learn, connect and be seen. So we built the community we wished we'd had, and invited every girl and woman who wants a seat at the table.
So we help girls and women

FAQ
Questions, answered
Can't find what you're looking for? Send us a message on Instagram or LinkedIn.
Who can join WoHackers?
Girls and women who want to take part in hackathons, tech competitions and events, whether it's your first or your fiftieth. Our sign-up form asks a few questions so we can keep the community a safe space for women.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Hackathon teams need people who research, design, plan and pitch, not only people who write code. And if you want to learn to build, a hackathon is a great place to start.
How do I join?
Fill in our sign-up form. At the end you'll find the link to our WhatsApp group, where members share hackathons, form teams and swap lessons.
Where does WoHackers happen?
We're a community from Brazil. Our events have taken place in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, and our group and many of the hackathons we share are online.
What is a WoHackathon?
A hackathon organized by WoHackers with women in mind. Teams build a project around a challenge and pitch it to the judges. Our Rio de Janeiro edition, for example, was a Solana challenge with Superteam Brasil.
How can my company or community support WoHackers?
Co-host or sponsor a challenge, offer tickets or mentors, or tell us about your hackathon so we can add it to the calendar. Send us a message on LinkedIn to get started.
